Some work and personal stuff came up at the last minute, and unfortunately I won't be able to make it to VVC as planned this year. I'm so sorry I'm going to miss seeing everyone--and of course, all the VIDS--but I'm going to try to catch some of the shows (assuming the Vividcon Live streaming thing is happening again), and I'll so be there in spirit. Especially at Club Vivid.

If there's anyone local who would be willing to pick up my registration packet & extra con DVDs and bring them to me next week in Manhattan, coffee or lunch or whatever is on me! Same for anyone willing to priority mail them to me for the next time I see you.

In any case, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and that I'll be there to share it with you again next year!

harriet_spy and I are VJing the Threesomes/Triangles/Trios vidshow at this year's Vividcon. The official description:

"A vidshow about the entanglements, romantic or otherwise, that can arise between three people, from OT3s to love triangles to families to partnerships plus one. In short: why should pairings have all the fun?"

The playlist deadline is this Saturday, and while we have a pretty good show coming together and have gotten some great suggestions already, we could use just a couple more vids! We're especially looking for vids that are upbeat/high-energy/sexy, as well as vids that feature one or more characters of color or a lesbian pairing. Vids focusing on a relationship between three male characters are welcome too.

And I personally would love to see vids for the following characters/trios/fandoms:

Doctor Who, Nine/Rose/Jack
Harry Potter, Harry/Ron/Hermione
House, House/Wilson/Cuddy
Heroes, Nathan/Peter/Claire (I have one suggestion already but the vid only uses S1 footage, so I would be excited to see something incorporating later seasons as well)

I'm going to be VJing a vidshow at Vividcon this year, and the theme is sex. Since fandom really likes making and watching vids about sex, this should be fun... but I need some suggestions! Which vids do you associate with sex? Why?

The vids don't all necessarily have to be vids that turn you on; although that's certainly part of the goal and I want to hear about which vids you think are hot, what people find arousing can vary widely and be intensely personal. So in addition to those vids, for this show I'd love to see a wide range of examples of the techniques vidders use to incite and/or analyze desire. Some of the different types of vids I'm looking for include

--vids that are straightforwardly erotic

--vids about expressions of sexuality such as fetishes/kink/bdsm

--vids about a character's sexuality or a sexual relationship between characters (as separate from the vid itself being intended to be erotic, so this could be a vid about a character coming out, or a vid celebrating sexual chemistry or a sexual relationship between particular characters, etc.)

--vids illustrating a fanfic trope to do with sex

-- vids using explicit external source, photomanips, or other effects to construct a sexual narrative

--meta vids concerned with sex

Anything goes: any fandom, with any characters, of any gender, race, or sexual orientation, having all kinds of sex--be it solo or with one or more partners, kinky or vanilla, serious or silly. (And vidders, please don't be shy about nominating your own vids.)

Any and all signal boosting is greatly appreciated!

I am adding some new people I don't have on my livejournal flist, because I am going to try a radical new experiment where I actually try using filters instead of having 15 different journals (that is barely even an exaggeration!).

Half a Moon is a fourteen day multifandom challenge celebrating female characters, which will run from February 1 through Valentine's Day. Fanfiction, vids, recs, art, picspam, icons, meta, fanmixes, and outside links fitting the theme of this challenge are all welcome--the only rule is that the primary focus must be on a female character or characters.

It ended up being surprisingly detailed--well, surprising to me, having never run one before--but really this was conceived as one of the more laid-back challenges imaginable. There are no set themes or prompts, and you don’t have to post something for all fourteen days. While we hope to see a mix of new and older stuff, if you want to crosspost or repost appropriate content which was originally created for other purposes, that’s cool too. Basically it’s all about having another place to celebrate the awesomeness of the women in our favorite fandoms, so:

I'm going to VJ a vidshow at Vividcon this year, and I need some vid suggestions! The show will focus on relationships between women--slashy and not--and I'm looking for vids depicting as many different types of relationships as possible (including but not limited to: friends, enemies, lovers, mentors, rivals, partners, mothers, daughters, sisters, and alter egos).

I want to hear any and all suggestions, but especially ones for anime vids and vids about families (think Alias, Gilmore Girls, Charmed... I know some of you watch these shows and have seen more vids for them than I have). Het content is fine, as long as the relationship between two or more women is primary. Other than that, please remember to provide some information about where to find the vid, and definitely mention any of your own vids that you think would fit the theme.
